Kids In Crisis proudly works collaboratively in the community

Community Partnership Programs

Greenwich Together (formerly Greenwich Prevention Council)
A council made up of 31 Greenwich social service, educational, governmental, medical, law enforcement, religious and civic organizations  united in the mission to mobilize youth, parents and community partners to prevent substance misuse, promote behavioral and mental health and strengthen healthy choices through positive youth, family, and community development.
Co-chairs: Police Chief Jim Heavey and Human Services Commissioner Dr. Alan Barry. Administration provided by Kids In Crisis. For more information contact GreenwichTogether@kidsincrisis.org

Town of Greenwich Juvenile Review Board (JRB)
A restorative justice program provides first time juvenile offenders who have committed a misdemeanor an opportunity to avoid the juvenile court system through the admission of guilt and taking responsibility for actions. The offending youth and family appear before a panel made up of Greenwich Police, Dept. of Social Services and community agency representatives to develop an  individualized three-month goal-oriented contract .e.g., community service, restitution, therapeutic services,). A Kids In Crisis Outreach Worker meets weekly with the youth to provide case management services to help guide the completion of all required goals in the contract.

The Greenwich Interagency Team (IAT)
A multidisciplinary team comprised of members from Greenwich Public Schools, Department of Human Services and community agencies, committed to connecting  identified and referred youth with supports and services that will allow them to be more successful in school, at home and in the community. This voluntary program is for families and youth experiencing truancy, disruptive behaviors, mental health/ substance use concerns and other struggles. A three-month action plan is developed by the IAT, family, and youth to address the identified concerns. A Kids In Crisis Outreach Worker meets with the youth and family to help guide and support implementation of the action plan.
