Martin Luther King, Jr. Ceremony Honors Denise Qualey,
Kids In Crisis Managing Director of Crisis and Clinical Services!

The 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Ceremony on January 15 at Ridgefield Playhouse will honor Denise Qualey with the Spirit of Dr. King Community Service Award.

On Monday, January 15, 2024, from 3:00 to 4:30 pm, the Town of Ridgefield will present the 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration, honoring the legacy of the great civil rights leader with an awards ceremony, speakers, and performances.

The Spirit of Dr. King Community Service Award is presented each year to a member of our town who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to community service and selflessness in the finest traditions of Dr. Martin Luther King.

This year’s ceremony honors Denise Qualey, who has served the youth of Ridgefield – both officially and unofficially – for decades as chair of the Ridgefield Youth Commission and Managing Director of Kids In Crisis.

In addition to presenting Denise with this honor, there will be performances by actress Kimberly Wilson, The Ridgefield Chorale, SPHERE, and many other local organizations, as well as words from local clergy.

This annual tradition of entertainment and celebration honors the memory of Dr. King and keeps his legacy alive by acknowledging the good work of Ridgefield residents.

The 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration is presented by the Town of Ridgefield and will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 3 pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse as part of the HamletHub Community Events Series. It is a free event for all to attend.
