Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023

In Wilton, a remarkable transformation is underway. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Kids In Crisis and the generous support of our community, 2023 has been a year of unprecedented growth and impact in child and teen support services. We are proud to present the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023 Report.

The Impact in Wilton

TeenTalk at Wilton High School: This year, 31 students benefitted from our expanded counseling services, transitioning our high school counselor from a part-time to a full-time role to enhance support. This significant change is a part of the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023 initiative.

Lighthouse Program Launch: In collaboration with the Wilton Historical Society, we’ve introduced this peer-to-peer initiative to foster well-being and inclusivity among LGBTQ+ youth. This program is a cornerstone of the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023.

Beyond Wilton: The Wider Reach

SafeHaven Emergency Shelter: As the only service of its kind in Fairfield County, our shelter has been a sanctuary for distressed children. Our efforts here are a crucial aspect of the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023 Report.

24-hour Crisis HelpLine: A vital lifeline to 670 individuals this year, demonstrating our support’s extensive reach and impact, and contributing significantly to the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023.

Celebrating Milestones and Looking Ahead

We couldn’t have achieved these milestones without the support of our donors and corporate sponsors. As we look ahead, our goal is to continue expanding our reach, ensuring every child and teen in crisis knows they are not alone.

Personal Touch – A Counselor’s Perspective

Since January 2023, our dedicated counselor at Wilton High School (WHS) has played a pivotal role in enhancing students’ mental health support system. Integrating the TeenTalk (TT) program and Kids In Crisis resources, they’ve actively participated in weekly mental health meetings with staff and administration to identify and assist at-risk students. Additionally, the counselor has been instrumental in WHS’s inaugural Mental Health Fair and has been appointed the lead for the 10th-grade Suicide Screening, offering crucial support to high-risk students as part of the Wilton Kids In Crisis Impact 2023 Report.
