In the heart of Greenwich, Connecticut, an extraordinary journey of compassion and support is unfolding every day. Kids In Crisis, a beacon of hope for young people for 45 years, has reached remarkable milestones in 2023, making a significant impact on the community. As the year draws to a close, this is a story of how collective efforts have changed lives and shaped futures.

Kidtalk Program at Hamilton Avenue Elementary School:

  • Launched this year, the Kidtalk program is a pioneering initiative providing tailored counseling for elementary school children in Greenwich. This makes a significant stride in expanding services across Fairfield County’s elementary schools, setting a robust foundation for the emotional and mental well-being of our young ones.

Greenwich Together Program:

  • In collaboration with local partners, Kids In Crisis continued to play a pivotal role in the Greenwich Together Program. This initiative engages youth, parents, guardians, and community partners in promoting behavioral and mental health and preventing substance misuse.

TeenTalk and Club Talk Programs:

  • The impact of TeenTalk and Club Talk programs in Greenwich’s middle schools and the Boys and Girls Club is profound. Notable engagement in Central, Eastern, and Western Middle Schools, along with significant growth at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, illustrates the successful reach of these initiatives.

Impact Beyond Greenwich:

  • The SafeHaven emergency shelter and the 24-hour Crisis HelpLine are a testament to the broad impact of support. With 670 individuals assisted this year, these services are crucial lifelines in Fairfield County.

Corporate and Individual Contributions:

  • The ongoing support from donors and corporate sponsors is the cornerstone of Kids In Crisis’s ability to dream bigger and reach further. It’s a collective effort that makes sure every child and teen in Crisis knows they are not alone.

Personal Stories and Community Engagement:

  • There have been so many reports from our counselors about the differences they make every day. From starting new student groups, lunch duty interactions, collaborative interventions, and participation in school events like the students vs. staff basketball game, each one illustrates the deep connection between Kids In Crisis and the Greenwich community.
