A highlight of 2023 was the impact of the TeenTalk Counselors at the Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (AITE). Engaging with 80 students, these counselors have become a cornerstone of support, offering guidance and a listening ear to those in need. Their presence at AITE is more than just a service; it’s a lifeline for many students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Expansion Plans for TeenTalk\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Looking ahead to 2024, Kids In Crisis plans to expand the TeenTalk program to Stamford High and Westhill. This expansion aims to provide a consistent and nurturing environment for more students throughout the year, ensuring every child has the support they need.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ClubTalk Program: Extending Reach\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The upcoming year will see the launch of the ClubTalk program at the Boys and Girls Club in Stamford. The Lighthouse Program, stationed at the Fish Church, continues to be a flagship initiative. As a peer-to-peer program, Lighthouse is dedicated to the well-being of youth who face identity-based challenges and their allies. Broader Impact: SafeHaven and Crisis HelpLine\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kids In Crisis’ impact extends beyond Stamford. The SafeHaven emergency shelter remains the only service of its kind in Fairfield County, offering sanctuary to children in distress. The organization’s 24-hour Crisis HelpLine has been a lifeline for 670 individuals this year, proving its indispensable role in the community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
