{"id":532,"date":"2019-11-26T16:10:34","date_gmt":"2019-11-26T16:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kidsincrisis.org\/sub\/?p=532"},"modified":"2019-12-17T18:04:28","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T18:04:28","slug":"swiss-re-funds-learning-lab-to-help-kids-in-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kidsincrisis.org\/sub\/2019\/11\/26\/swiss-re-funds-learning-lab-to-help-kids-in-crisis\/","title":{"rendered":"Swiss Re Foundation Funds Learning Lab to Help Kids In Crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cos Cob, CT &#8211; The ribbon was cut today on Kids In Crisis\u2019 newly built Learning Lab, funded by generous support from the Swiss Re Foundation\u2019s 2019 Charity of the Year Program. \u00a0Neil Sprackling of Swiss Re cut the ribbon alongside Kids In Crisis\u2019 Chairman of the Board Bill Pierz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are enormously grateful to the Swiss Re Foundation for enabling us to create this exciting new space for our shelter residents, staff, and community,\u201d says Kids In Crisis executive director Shari Shapiro.<\/p>\n<p>The Learning Lab was built in a reconfigured open space in Kids In Crisis\u2019 Farmhouse building. It is designed to enable multiple uses, including kids\u2019 afterschool academic and enrichment, therapeutic group programming, parent education, onsite trainings for staff, volunteers, and community members, and private counseling meetings. In addition, it will provide new capability for teleconferencing for professional development and advocacy work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re delighted for the opening of the Learning Lab.
