Kids In Crisis Lighthouse Program Bridgeport Partnership

Bridgeport Pride Center has officially opened! The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Thursday, June 20th, 2024. The center’s goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment for people navigating issues related to gender and self-expression, allies, and families. State Representative and Bridgeport Pride Center interim Executive Director Marcus Brown opened the ceremony by expressing gratitude to the funders and supporters who helped complete the project. Congressman Jim Himes also spoke at the ceremony, expressing his support for this community and extending his best wishes to the newly opened center.

The Bridgeport Pride Center (BPC) will offer a variety of programs and services, including advocacy initiatives, mental health support, and social events. One of the standout collaborations is with the Kids In Crisis Lighthouse Program, which focuses on supporting youth who face identity-based challenges. This partnership aims to extend comprehensive services to individuals in Connecticut’s most populated city. The Kids In Crisis Lighthouse Program Bridgeport Partnership will ensure that youth have access to vital resources and support.

The Lighthouse Program is excited to begin its Kids In Crisis Lighthouse Program Bridgeport Partnership and looks forward to helping serve youth seeking support for acceptance, belonging, and safety in the city. By providing specialized mental health support, educational resources, and social activities, the Lighthouse Program will play a crucial role in the holistic development and well-being of students who experience marginalization or discrimination based on who they are in Bridgeport.

As we expand our reach to support all youth services in Bridgeport, we invite our community to join us in this vital mission. Your support is crucial to ensuring that we can continue to provide these essential services and create a safe, nurturing environment for all youth. Donations to the Kids In Crisis Lighthouse Program Bridgeport Partnership will directly contribute to our efforts in Bridgeport, helping us to maintain and expand our programs and services.
