Employee Volunteer Day for Swiss Re and KPMG

Employee Volunteer Day for Swiss Re and KPMG

Swiss Re, in partnership with KPMG, teamed up for their annual Community Day. They volunteered their time, energy, and hard-working hands to help beautify Kids In Crisis. Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, was their special Employee Volunteer Day, and 20 Swiss Re and KPMG employees got their hands dirty and conducted a deep cleaning at the Kids In Crisis Farmhouse Shelter.

The combined team of volunteers spruced up the Kids in Crisis Garden with new flowers and vegetable plants. They also helped reorganize the Kids in Crisis basement with new shelving and storage bins. In addition, Swiss Re and KPMG volunteers cooked a delicious dinner for the children staying at the shelter before their day was done.

According to Pearl Mayo, Swiss Re Audit Manager Audit Manager Americas L&H | Vice President | Group Internal Audit, Swiss Re has been conducting Community Days at Kids In Crisis since 2017, and every year, employees look forward to getting out of the office and doing something good in their community. Pearl said that this year was especially memorable because it was the first year they partnered with KPMG for their Community Day, “This was such a great way for both companies to be together in a nurturing environment.”

Pearl said that Community Days are a great way to showcase what Kids In Crisis truly offers children and families throughout the community. “For us, it lets us do something good, something tangible in our community, helping one family at a time, helping one child at a time at the grassroots level.”
