SafeTalk

Training Update:  The next SafeTalk training is Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kids in Crisis. If you would like to attend the training or would like more information, please contact Kristen Tomasiewicz at ktomasiewicz@kidsincrisis.org or 203-622-6556.

Created specifically for children in kindergarten through grade six, SafeTalk is a unique collaboration between counseling professionals from Kids in Crisis, educators and trained volunteers interested in teaching our children about violence prevention.  The program, developed by the International Center on Assault Prevention (ICAP), SafeTalk examines different types of violence – be it bullying, physical assault or verbal abuse—and teaches age-appropriate techniques for staying “Safe, Strong and Free.”

Since its inception in 1999, the Kids in Crisis SafeTalk program, available to schools free of charge, has been presented in more than 1,000 area classrooms, reaching more than 37,600 students to date.

If you are interested in learning more about the SafeTalk program and how it can help children in your community, please contact Kristen Tomasiewicz.
