Free, round-the-clock help for children, teens and parents

Since its founding in 1978, Kids in Crisis has helped more than 89,000 Connecticut children and families; in 2007 more than 9,200 children and families received assistance from the organization.

Based in Cos Cob, Kids in Crisis provides services to children of all socio- economic conditions in Fairfield County, including those in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.

Crisis Intervention   
Our 24-hour Helpline provides counseling and referrals. If needed, a trained outreach counselor is dispatched to meet with you.

Temporary Shelter 
Kids in Crisis is the only agency in the state to provide emergency shelter care to children of all ages:
  • Crisis Nursery
    Children ages newborn to twelve
  • Teen House
    Adolescents ages thirteen to seventeen



After Care 
Short-term counseling support ensures that children receive proper home care and appropriate support services.



Special Services for Children in our Shelter Care   
Our licensed Health Center provides nursing and psychiatric care for all children in residence and referrals to physicians.
 
Our Education Program provides each school-age child, who cannot attend their home school, with daily classroom study with trained educators and a complete educational assessment to identify special needs.
