For over thirty years, Kids in Crisis has been providing free, round-the-clock crisis intervention, counseling and emergency shelter, prevention programs in local communities and advocacy throughout Connecticut.


TeenTalk Counselor

Kids in Crisis currently has an opening for a full time TeenTalk Counselor serving the Weston Community.  The TeenTalk Counselor will be responsible for the following duties, split between the Weston Middle School (3 days/week) and Weston High School (2 days/week):

·         Introduce Program/service to the Middle school community at assemblies, designated class presentations, etc.

·         Provide individual/family crisis counseling/support at both schools

·         Attend/participate in the school’s Study Team and/or Core Team meetings

·         Develop relevant education/therapeutic Groups for students, with input/direction from the school

·         In consultation with school staff, conduct home visits when necessary and appropriate

·         Serve as a liaison to help transition 8th grade students from the Middle School to the High School

Qualified applicants will possess:

·         Masters in Social work (MSW) Degree REQUIRED

·         Minimum of 2-3 years experience with clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and therapy (individual, group, and family). 

·         Ability to work with interdisciplinary team and knowledge of community resources a plus.
